Abstract

856,157. Windscreen wipers. TRICOFOLBERTH Ltd. Oct. 3, 1957 [Oct. 3, 1956], No. 30166/56. Class 138(1). A windscreen wiper arm assembly comprises a driven member with a bore receiving a drive shaft, an arm carrying member pivoted thereto about an axis at right angles to said bore, and a compression spring parallel to the bore and acting between the two members for urging the arm towards a windscreen, _the spring and pivot axis being on opposite sides of the bore. As shown, driven member 4 on drive shaft 2 has an arm carrying member 6 pivoted thereto by pin 8. Wiper arm 12 is urged towards the windscreen by spring 10, a shoulder 16 serving as a stop. The drive shaft 2 and driven member 4 are connected by a split sleeve collet 18 tightened by screw 20.
