Abstract

858,246. Seats; upholstery. EVERTAUT SEATING Ltd. May 22, 1959 [March 7, 1958], No. 7339/58. Classes 52(2) and 52(4) A seat consists of a rigid sheet 1 of mouldable plastic such as glass fibre reinforced resin, wood or metal shaped to fit the occupant and having bonded to its surface a layer 3 of compressible resilient cellular or sponge material such as foam latex or foamed polyurethane, polyether, polyester or polyvinyl chloride, the layer 3 being covered. by a resilient synthetic plastic film 4. The film may be made by fusing the surface of layer 3 or by spraying or dipping the assembly in or with rubber or polyvinyl chloride solution. Alternatively the film may be formed by filling the pores in the surface of layer 3 with a sealing compound or by bonding thin sheets of polyvinyl chloride to the surface. The film may be "flock sueded".
