Abstract

859,551. Transformers. AUTOMATIC TELEPHONE & ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Oct. 28, 1959 [Nov. 25, 1958], No. 37946/58. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XXV] A mounting arrangement for an electrical component, such as a transformer 15, comprises a rectangular base-plate 10 of moulded plastic material, e.g. nylon, having a channel-like member 12 upstanding centrally from each of two opposite edges of one face of the base-plate. the channel-like members being moulded integrally with the base and linked by a channel 14 in the base, thus forming three sides of an enclosure for the component while the fourth side is formed by a bowed spring clip 17, the ends of which 18 engage in slots at the free end of the channels. The other two edges of the base-plate are provided with a number of spaced double-ended connecting terminals 11, to the upper end of which the windings of the transformer may be soldered, the lower ends of the terminals being used to effect connection to the conductors of a printed circuit. It is stated that the transformer may have a ferrite core.
