Abstract

866,223. Mobile floodlighting apparatus. HARLEY, M. C. Nov. 19, 1959 [Nov. 19, 1958], No. 37190/58. Class 75(4). In an apparatus especially for floodlighting airfields consisting of a light projector mounted on a truck carrying a source of electrical energy, the projector is mounted at one end of a mast pivoted to the truck at a point intermediate its length so that it can be elevated manually from a substantially horizontal to a substantially vertical position, means being provided to retain it in the latter position. In the form shown, the truck b supports a motor generator c, a storage battery d, a locker e and a switch panel f. Two horizontal parallel beams a are secured to the top of the truck extending over the full length and a mast g carrying a floodlighting projector i is pivoted at h between the beams a, the lower end j of the mast having a handle grip k. A manually releasable latch m on the truck serves to secure the mast in erect position. The part j and grip k. may be detachable from the main part of the mast.
