Abstract

873,494. Centrifugal separators. RASTGELDI, S. Jan. 28, 1958 [March 8, 1957], No. 2890/58. Class 23 Apparatus for classifying the solids contained in a suspension, such as blood, comprises a rotor having a central inlet feeding a tube 3 having an open end outlet, and pockets 7 for the collection of the solids. In the conical apparatus shown in Figs. 5, 6, and in the appartus shown in Fig. 7, which has a spirally arranged tube, the outlet is at the maximum diameter and may be arranged to point inwardly. In a modification the tube may be cylindically arranged. A liquid may be introduced to wash the lighter particles from the heavier particles.
