Abstract

921,208. Combs. E. L. H. COSBY. Sept. 18, 1961, No. 33383/61. Class 131. A hairdressing comb comprises a resiliently flexible toothed strip 2 detachably connected at its ends to a rigid back 1 which has dependent guides limiting flexure of the strip to the plane containing the strip, the back and the teeth. The U-section back is moulded in rigid polystyrene and is cut away at 6, 7 to form control and end guide parts 10, 11 and the curved ends 12, 13 are apertured at 14 to receive prongs 17 at the ends of the strip 2 which is moulded or saw cut from flexible polyamide resin. Unslotted end parts 16 give local rigidity to the strip and recesses 18 allow the prongs 17 to snap into the apertures 14.
