Abstract
929,768. Cooling material discharged from kilns. J. MATSUDA. Feb. 5, 1962, No. 4333/62. Class 51 (2). Material, such as cement clinker or burnt lime, discharged from a kiln 1 is cooled in an annular chamber containing a deep bed and rotating above a stationary annular grate 13 through which air is blown from a chamber 14. The cooler has a fixed roof 11 with an opening co-operating with the discharge end of the kiln 1, and a hopper 20 with a pocketed drum outlet valve 21 is arranged below the single discharge opening in the grate. Tapered outlets 22 arranged around the base 6 of the cooler cooperate in turn with the outlet opening, and the air chamber 14 extends around the remainder of the grate 13. The body of the cooler comprising the base 6 and inner and outer cylindrical walls 5, 4 is mounted on wheels, and sealed to the walls of the air chamber 14 and the roof 11.
