Abstract
930,875. Electric switches. SWF-SPEZIAL-FABRIK FUER AUTOZUPEHOER GUSTAV RAU G.m.b.H. June 15, 1961 [Aug. 6, 1960], No. 21587/61. Class 38 (5). A direction indicator electric switch disposed below a steering wheel comprises a casing 1, a first ring 5 forming a continuation of the easing and rotatably mounted about the column 4 so as to operate a direction indicator contact bridge 7, a manuallyoperated lever 6 connected to the ring 5 and also a ring 9 which is mounted so as to be able to tilt about a pivot 8 and operate a dip-switch 11 mounted within the casing. The pivot bolt 8 connects the lever 6 with the ring 5, the lever being extended into the ring 9, which has an enlargement at 10, opposite the pivot bolt. Upward movement of the lever depresses ring section 10 and thus a slide 12 of a dip switch, to cause a projection 24 on one of two guide bars 14, 14<SP>1</SP> to bear on a flat surface of a block 16 and to rotate the block through 90 degrees on an axle 17, causing a contact bridge 19 cooperating with two separate contacts 20, 21, and a " common " contact 23, to rotate similarly and " change over " its contact arrangement. Simultaneously, the guide bars 14, 141 are mutually spread by the block 16, against the tension of spring 15, the slide being returned, on release of hand lever pressure, by the action of a spring 25. Movement of slide 12 is limited by spring 28 which may itself constitute a contact, so that heavy slide pressure causes the spring 28 to make contact with a further spring contact 29 for headlamp flashing.
