Abstract

939,621. Ventilating buildings. WILLIAM & H. H. JAMES Ltd. June 12, 1962 [June 14, 1961], No. 21412/61. Class 137. Apparatus for heating or ventilating a room, comprises an upper vertical conduit a opening out adjacent the ceiling at a<SP>1</SP>, and a lower vertical conduit b opening out adjacent the floor at b<SP>1</SP>, the two conduits being interconnected by a unit d in which is arranged an electric heating element e controlled by a thermostat (not shown) and energized from a mains supply, and an electric motor f with fan f<SP>1</SP>. As shown, air is drawn in through upper opening a<SP>1</SP>, is heated when passing over element e and is passed out into the room at floor level through lower opening b<SP>1</SP>. The apparatus may be built into a wall of a room so that only apertures a<SP>1</SP>, b<SP>1</SP> and inspection plate d<SP>2</SP> are visible. The conduits a, b and unit d are shown rectangular but may be triangular to fit into the corner of an already existing room.
