Abstract

953,243. Electric light fittings. J. J. FENN, and BENJAMIN ELECTRIC Ltd. Feb. 8, 1963 [Nov. 8, 1961], No. 39985/61. Heading F4R. An electric light fitting comprises a mounting plate and a detachable reflector plate having a set of lamp holders to support a tubular circular light source, co-operating means being provided on the two plates whereby the reflector plate can be detachably mounted in spaced relation to the mounting plate. In the form shown, the mounting plate 10 is saucer shaped and carries three spaced pins 11 each carrying a loose collar 13 pressed against the head of the pin by a spring 12. The reflector plate 15 has slots 14 through the larger ends of which the collars 13 pass, the plate 15 being secured in place by partial rotation. The larger ends of the slots have flanges 16 to lock the pins in position at the smaller ends. The light source 18 is held in place by three spaced holders 17, one of whioh is provided with electric contacts for the lamp. When the light source is an electric discharge tube, the control gear may be contained within the mounting plate. A transparent cover 19 may be secured over the plate 15 by a clamping band 21 engaging a bead on the periphery of the plate 10 with the interposition of a gasket.
