The cylinders of a swash plate pump are through bores 11 of constant diameter and receive outlet valve inserts 35 which are located either in recesses 55 in the end plate 16 by means of flanges 56 or circlips (Fig. 4 not shown) or against the end plate and circlips in the bores (Fig. 3 not shown).
