A practice cartridge comprises a case 2 and projectile 1 cast as one unit from a synthetic thermoplastic material having a specific gravity less than 1, such as polyethylene or polypropylene. The projectile has an axial cavity 4 communicating with the case 2, and a weakening groove 3 allows easy separation on firing.
