Abstract

992,231. Cartons. JOHN WADDINGTON Ltd. June 1, 1962 [March 8, 1961], No. 8393/61. Heading B8P. A carton, for Easter eggs, electric light bulbs and the like, comprises four separate entities folded from cardboard blanks, viz., a cage 1 divided into longitudinal ribs 2 by a series of cuts which terminate in score lines, two end walls 3 provided with apertures which receive the ends of the cage 1, and an outer envelope 7 folded to tubular form and adapted to retain the cage 1 and the end walls 3 in position, the length of the cage 1 being such that the ribs 2 are outwardly bowed. End flaps provided on the envelope 7 interlock when turned inwards to overlie peripheral flanges 5 on the end walls 3. Apertures 8 in the envelope 7 reveal the contents. The envelope may be provided with a wrapper or the apertures 8 may be covered with transparent material.
