An angularly adjustable stand for an electric lamp or heater has a base 2 provided with a longitudinally slotted arcuate tongue portion 7, a member 5 with an end surface curved to engage the tongue 7 and a second member 3 secured to the lamp fitting 1 by bolts 4 the member 5 being clamped between the tongue 7 and member 3 by means of a bolt 11 which projects through the slot in tongue 7 and engages a threaded opening 10 in member 3 a third member 6 being provided between the head of the bolt and the undersurface of tongue 7. The lamp can thus be rotated through 360 degrees or angularly adjusted in a vertical plane by movement along the tongue.
