Abstract

998,268. Electrostatic precipitators. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. June 25, 1962 [July 12, 1961], No. 24380/62. Heading B2J. An emission electrode for electrostatic precipitators with horizontal gas flow consists of a stamped out sheet of metal with a flat middle part or web 3a and bent or rolled up at two opposite edges, these edges being provided with a number of pressed-up parts or projections 4 serving to constitute the main emitting elements of the electrode. Figs. 2 and 3 show sections through alternative embodiments of electrode, in Fig. 2 each of the rolled-up edges 3b having pressed-up parts 4 on both sides of the electrode, and in Fig. 3 the opposite bent edges each having pressed-up parts 4 on only one side of the electrode. The electrodes may be mounted to hang vertically in rows in a precipitator and may be rapped by a hammer acting on a rapper bar connecting the lower ends of a row of electrodes, Fig. 1 (not shown).
