Abstract

Novel thiazoles which have an antiinflammatory effect and which can be used as pharmaceuticals and correspond to the formula (I) <IMAGE> in which R1 is an optionally substituted carbocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic radical; R2 is a radical of the formula -CH=CH-COOH or -CH2-CH2-COOH or the radical of a salt or amide of these acids; and R3 is hydrogen or an alkyl radical with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and their acid addition salts, with the proviso that R2 is the radical of a salt or amide of the said acid groups if R1 is an unsubstituted phenyl radical or a mono- or dimethoxyphenyl radical and R3 is a hydrogen atom, are obtained by hydrolysing the corresponding cyanoethenyl or cyanoethyl derivatives.
