〔産業上の利用分野〕
本発明はワークステーションのコンピュータにおける
文書管理装置及び文書管理方法に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
ワークステーションにおける電子文書管理方式はいろ
いろ検討されており、それを最も洗練された形で実現し
たものとしては、ゼロックス社のStarワークステーショ
ン上の文書ファイルシイテムがある。そこでは、紙のホ
ルダー（書類入れ）を電子的にシミュレートしたもので
個々の文書を閉じた形で格納しておくことができる電子
ホルダーが用意されており、処理の単位は個々の文書を
単位として行われ、それらの文書を電子ホルダーに移動
し整理・保存することもできるし、また電子ホルダーに
格納する前であれば、個々の文書を同時に表示・編集す
ることもできる。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
しかしながら上記電子文書管理方式においては、あく
まで取り扱いの単位は個々の文書であり、それらをまと
めて取り扱うためには１つの電子ホルダーに挿入せねば
ならず、この時に表示・編集は不可能になってしまう。
すなわち、表示・編集がそれぞれの文書で同時に可能な
状態で複数文書をまとめて取り扱うことはできない。
ところで、一般に、オフィス業務をはじめとした、文
書等のデータを参照・編集・整理・検索するという作業
においては、関連のあるデータや文書をカプセル化して
同時に参照・編集・整理・検索することができることは
非常に有用であり、作業効率を著しく向上させる。
本発明は、上記問題点を解決するものであって、複数
の文書をそれが各々編集可能な表示状態のままでひとま
とめにすることを可能にすることを目的としている。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
そのために、特許請求の範囲第１項記載の発明は、複
数の文書をディスプレイ上に表示、編集可能にするコン
ピュータにおける電子文書管理装置において、
複数の文書をカプセル化するための電子ボードを表現
するアイコンをディスプレイ上に表示する表示手段と、
該アイコンに対するユーザからの入力に応じて、前記
電子ボードをディスプレイ上に開いて表示する手段と、
ユーザからの指示に従って、ディスプレイ上に開かれ
て表示されている複数の文書を、前記開かれた電子ボー
ド上に貼り付けることにより前記複数の文書をカプセル
化する手段と、
ユーザからの入力に応じて、前記複数の文書をカプセ
ル化した電子ボードをアイコンに戻す手段と、

ンに対するユーザの入力を受け付けたときに、該アイコ
ンを開き、該電子ボードを閉じるまえの状態で表示する
ことにより、該電子ボードアイコン内の複数の文書をデ
ィスプレイ上に参照、編集可能にすることを特徴とす
る。
また、特許請求の範囲第２項記載の発明は、文書をデ
ィスプレイ上に表示、編集可能にするコンピュータにお
ける電子文書管理装置において、
少なくとも１つの文書と、通常の文書より小さな定型
化された電子カードとをカプセル化するための電子ボー
ドを表現するアイコンをディスプレイ上に表示する表示
手段と、
該アイコンに対するユーザからの入力に応じて、前記
電子ボードをディスプレイ上に開いて表示する手段と、
ユーザからの指示に従って、ディスプレイ上に開かれ
て表示されている少なくとも１つの文書と電子カード

〔作用〕
本発明においては例えば第４図に示すように、ディス
プレイ４上に、開かれた文書Ａ、Ｂおよび電子ボードア
イコン７の３つのオブジェクトが存在し、このときユー
ザは、文書Ａおよび文書Ｂを開かれた状態で１枚の電子
ボード上に配置したいとするとき、先ず、ユーザはポイ
ンティングデバイスを用いてその電子ボードアイコン７

〔実施例〕
以下、本発明の実施例を図面を参照しつつ説明する。
第１図は本発明の電子文書管理装置及び電子文書管理方

第１図において、キーボード１、ポインティングデバ
イス２は入力装置として周知のもので、CPU3に対して命

の文書よりも小さなサイズの文書を電子カードとして用
意することにより、その用途に応じて通常文書と電子カ
ードを使い分けることができ、電子ボードをより有効に
利用することが可能になる。例えば、定型化された文
章、コメント或いはネットワーク上で共通して利用され
る事項（例えば、組織、住所、分類、例文等）が格納さ
れている。
そして、この電子ボード６を閉じれば、電子ボード上
の全ての文書は閉じられて電子ボードアイコン７の形で
アイコンを表示する手段により表示され、電子ボードア

理装置及び電子文書管理方法の使用例について説明す
る。
第４図に示すようにディスプレイ４上に、開かれた文
書Ａ、Ｂおよび電子ボードアイコン７の３つのオブジェ

を開かれた状態で１枚の電子ボード上に配置したいとす
