Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the title coating composition having high yellowing resistance and excellent properties, and useful as a paint, by adding a surface active agent, water, etc. to fine powder of a thermosetting polyester-modified vinyl resin obtained by the graft copolymerization of an unsaturated polyester resin and a specific monomer mixture.
CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of (A) 100 parts by weight of a thermosetting polyester-modified vinyl resin having an average diameter of 1W50μ, a hydroxy value of 10W180, pref. 30W120, and an acid value of 3W40, pref. 5W25, and obtained by the graft copolymerization of (a) 2W40 parts of an unsaturated polyester resin and (b) 98W60 parts of a monomer mixture comprising an N-alkoxymethylated α, β-monoethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid amide, (B) 0.01W1 part of a surface active agent and/or a thickener, and (C) a proper amount of water.
