Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the production of huge dots by providing a conductive layer and an insulating layer to the underside of a dielectric layer and applying recording voltage through the resistance in the direction parallel to the film plane of the conductive layer, between the end of the conductive layer and a stylus electrode. CONSTITUTION:A conductive layer 6 of a metal thin film, semiconductor thin film, etc. is provided to the underside of a dielectric layer 2 and further an insulation- characteristic base material 7 is provided thereunder in contact therewith. Here, the electric power is being supplied from the lateral direction of an intermediate resistance layer 6. Since there are no grounded portions in the portion proximate to the film plane of the intermediate resistance layer 6, said layer will not have any large electrostatic capacity. Hence, the resistance R2 in the direction parallel to the film plane of the intermediate resistance layer 6 straightly becomes the resistance of a recording circuit as shown in an equivalent circuit; therefore, the abnormally large current flowing at the discharging is blocked and the production of huge dots is prevented. Here, the capacity C2 refers to the capacity portion by the insulation- characteristic base material 7. In this way, the degradation in image quality owing to the production of huge dots may be prevented.
