Abstract
PURPOSE: A cement, capable of repairing cracks, etc. by application to the inner surface of a tire for an automobile, having improved resistance to thermal aging, and comprising a diene rubber, a quinoid compound, zinc oxide, an organic peroxide etc. in a specific proportion with an organic solvent.
CONSTITUTION: (a) 100pts.wt. a simple diene rubber, e.g. polyisoprene or polybutadiene, is incorporated with (b) 0.5W4pts.wt. a quinoid compound, preferably p-quinonedioxime, as a crosslinking agent, (c) 10W500pts.wt. (calculated as the solid content) suspension of zinc oxide and/or tri-iron tetroxide, preferably particle size of 0.1W1μ, as a filler in an alcohol solvent to give a composition A. On the other hand, (d) 0.25W2pts.wt. based on the component (a) organic peroxide, e.g. benzoyl peroxide, is dissolved in an organic solvent, e.g. toluene, to form a composition B. The compositions A and B are mixed and agitated to afford the aimed room temperature curing cement.
