Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled polymer having high bulk density and high powder fluidity, by using a highly active catalyst consisting of an organic aluminum compound and a component obtained by supporting a magnesium halide, a titanium halide, and an electron donor with a metal oxide treated with a halogenating agent.
CONSTITUTION: The objective polymer is prepared by polymerizing an olefin (e.g. propylene) using a polymerization catalyst composed of (A) a solid component obtained by supporting a magnesium halide, a titanium halide and a electron donative organic compound (e.g. ethyl benzoate) with a carrier comprising metal oxides containing silica, alumina, magnesia, titania, boria, or their double oxides treated with a halogenating agent (excluding phosphorus halides) and (B) an organic aluminum compound (e.g. triethyl aluminum).
