Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of operations for accumulating and separating inner containers which contain therein flexible planer packages filled with sterilized articles by constituting an inner container accumulating and separating apparatus such that an inner container is received by a support member which is moved by an endless chain along a vertical plane while the support member is moving upwardly whereas it is transferred to and accumulated on a carrying-out belt while the support member is moving downwardly.
CONSTITUTION: If an endless chain 32 is moved in a direction (a), support members 33 are also moved integrally with the chain 32. When a support member 33 comes to a position coincident with an inner container 12 which has been carried in on a carrying-in conveyor 39, support springs 34 which have been retracted by a control plate not shown in the figure are now projected to engage with a supported part of the inner container 12 and then supports the inner container 12 thereon. After the support member 33 continues its movement, it is moved downwardly to reach a carrying-out conveyor 40. In this position, the inner container 12 is now placed on the conveyor 40 and the support springs 34 are retracted again and disengaged from the inner container 12 so that the inner container 12 is left on the conveyor 40. A predetermined number of inner containers 12 are accumulated on the conveyor 40 by a repetition of such a sequence of operations. Thus, the efficiency to accumulate and separate inner containers 12 can be improved thereby.
