Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of component parts of an optical writing head and simplify the construction of the head, by embedding a plurality of optical fiber bundles in a fiber plate, and supporting by the plate a plurality of FPC (flexible printed circuit) connected to a light-emitting means. CONSTITUTION:A light emitted from a light-emitting part 13a of an LED chip 13 is transmitted through a transparent synthetic resin 15 to enter a plurality of optical fibers through one end part 16a of an optical fiber bundle 16 embedded in a fiber plate 11. The light transmitted through the fiber bundle 16 at high efficiency is emitted through the other end part 16b of the fiber bundle 16 to strike the surface of an object 18 to be exposed, such as a photosensitive drum. The LED chip 13 is connected by a TAB (tape automated bonding) system to a conductor pattern 12a of two FPC 12 provided on the surface of the fiber plate 11 so that the light-emitting part 13a of the chip 13 is opposed to the FPC 12.
