Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a método para mejorar la función de los compuestos aditivos a base de azufre, para lubricantes y fluídos funcionales conteniendo azufre-lábil, en donde la mejora comprende tratar dicho aditivo a base de azufre con cobre en su estado elemental o como una sal o con cobre y un material opcional reactivo con dicho azufre-lábil a una temperatura elevada para por medio de lo cual eliminar substancialmente la corrosividad detrimental de metal y la degradación detrimental de materiales de elastómero exhibida por dicho aditivo que contiene azufre-lábil.The present invention relates to a method for improving the function of sulfur-based additive compounds, for lubricants and functional fluids containing sulfur-labile, wherein the improvement comprises treating said sulfur-based additive with copper in its elemental state or as a salt or with copper and an optional material reactive with said sulfur-labile at an elevated temperature whereby to substantially eliminate the detrimental corrosivity of metal and the detrimental degradation of elastomeric materials exhibited by said sulfur-labile-containing additive.
