Abstract

The invention relates to the technology of operation of underground storage facilities (USF) with use of inert gas as a buffer gas and can be used in natural gas industry during USF cyclic operation created on the base of exhausted gas, gas-condensate deposits and aquifers under conditions of their heterogeneity. The invention includes periodic injection of natural gas into the storage facility, storage of natural gas in the storage facility, extraction of natural gas from the storage facility and injection of inert gas as buffer gas in the storage facility through the intervals of the perforation of bore holes. In the case inert gas is injected into the low-penetrating part of the reservoir bed, and additional volumes of natural gas, which are obtained as a result of injection of inert gas as buffer gas, extracted from high-penetrating part of reservoir bed and low-penetrating part of the reservoir bed of the bore holes, which are distanced from the bore holes, through which the inert gas is injected, when the distance between the bore holes for injecting the gas and extraction of natural gas is sufficient for averting mixing inert and natural gases, and the quantity and place of arrangement of bore holes is determined taking into account the lithological and volume character of reservoir bed, volumes and rate of injection of inert gas and volumes and rate of extraction of additional volumes of natural gas.
