Having thus described my invention, what claim as new and desire to secure by Let ters Patent, is:

1. In a musical instrument of the class described, the combination of a pair of telescoping members, the outer slide member being provided with a cross piece at its inner end, a sleeve having an annular enlargement providin an internal annular chamber, the inner end 0 said sleeve beinp; fitted upon the outer slide member and longitudinally slotted to receive said cross piece thereof, whereby the sleeve is supported to slidably embrace the inner lTlGHllJEl', a lip on the end of saiu outer slide member projecting into said chamber, a ring arranged in the outer end of said sleeve to project into said chamber to provide aiiller supporting lip, and a filler of wic Zing}; disposed in said chamber with its edges supported by said lips at he ends thereof.

2. In a. musical instrument of the class described, the combination of a pair of tele scoping members, the outer member constitutii a slide member, a sleeve mounted upon the inner end of said slide member and having an annular enlargement providing an internal annular chamber, a lip on the end of said slide member projecting into said chamber, a lip at the outer end of said sleeve projecting into said chamber, and a filler disposed in said chamber whereby said filler is supported to slidably embrace said inner member, said i'iller being adapted to receive a lubricant.

In a musi *al instrument of the class described, the combination or a pair of telescoping members, the outer member constituting; a slide member, a sleeve mounted upon the inner end or" said slide member and having an annular enlargement providing an internal annular chamber, a lip at the outer end 01" said sleeve projecting into said chamher, and a filler disposed in said chamber with its edges supported by said lip whereby said filler is supported to slidably embrace said inner member, said filler being adapted to receive a lubricant.

4. In an instrument of the class described, the combination of a pair of telescoping members, the outer member constituting, a slide, a sleeve removably mounted on said outer member to project from the inner end thereof, said sleeve being prorided with an intenial annular chamber ii its projecting portion having lips projecting into it at each end, and a filler disposed in said chamber with its edges engaged by said lips, said filler being adapted to receive a lubricant.

In an instrument of the class described, the combination of a pair of telescoping members, the outer member constitutiirg a slide, a sleeve removably mounted on said outer member to project from the inner end thereof, said sleeve being provided with an internal annular chamber in its projecting portion having, a lip projecting into it, and a filler disposed in said chamber with its edge engaged by said lip, said filler being adapted to receive a lubricant.

6. In an instrument of the class described, the combination oi a pair of telescoping members, the outer member constituting a slide, a sleeve removably mounted on said outer member to project from the inner end thereof, said sleeve being provided with an internal annular chamber in its projecting portion, and a filler disposed in said chamher and supported to slidably embrace the inner telescoping member, said filler being, adapted to receive a lubricant.
