IMPROVEMENT lN MACHINES FOR CUTTING PAPER.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 132,525, dated October 29, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALEXANDER T. DE PUY, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new andImproved Machine for Cutting Paper, of which the following is a specification:
Nature and Objects of the Invention.
My invention relates to machines for cutting thin material of all kinds; and the invention consists in a novel construction, combination, and arrangement of parts, which have for their object to make a cheap and effectual cutting-machine, as will be fully set forth hereafter.
Description of the Drawing.

General Description.
thereto, through which the clamp-bolt Gpasses from one ear to the other through the longitudinal slots D D, to clamp the carriage E in position to the bed A. This carriage is provided With a shear, H, pivoted at e, and also with a plate, I, which serves as the stationary blade of the shear, and there is also a stop, d, secured to the side of the carriage. The near way 13' may be graduated so as the more readily to determine any size to be out.
From the foregoing description the construction and arrangement of the machine will be readily understood. The change for the desired sized out can be readily made, and the out sheets will always present parallel sides.
