To all whom it may concern it known that I, WiinELnR Hf VIBBER, a citizen of the United States," residing at New London, in the county of New London and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Terminal Ground-Clamps; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the characters of reference marked thereon, to ho a'ful-l, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this application, and represent, in-

My invention relates to an improved terminal or ground clamp for electric conductors, the object being to produce at a low cost for manui acturi a simple conveniant and effsctive'clainp of the character sists of a flexible metal With these ends in View myinvention consists in a terminal or ground clamp having cert letuils of construction aswill be inoreina described and pointed out in the claims.
As herein shown my improved'clamp constrip 2 of uniform width, one end being furnished with a series of perforations 3 to adapt the clamp to be applied to grounding pipes varying in diameter, astandard pipe being shown at 4 in Fig. l. The opposite bent to form an inverted loop 5 of which the legs 6 and 7 are perforated as at 8 and 9 "for the reception of a clamping screw 10 furnished with a nut 11 which is screwed up against the outer face oftho opposite end of the strip 9 the intermediate portion of which. is carried around the pipe and imcnd of the strip is posed, as it were, upon the outer face of the outer leg 7. The outer leg 7 is itself bent as at 12 near the bow of the loop to form a conductor-receiving eye 13, thus giving the lower end of the leg 7. an outward flare (Fig.- 3) so as to increase its spring action and hence its ability to contract the eye 13 and grip the same upon the wire 14 when the device is applied as shown in Fig. 1.
I claim:
1. In a terminal or ground clamp, thr combination with a flexible metal strip formed at one end with perforations and having its opposite end bent to form an upstanding U-shaped loop the legs of which are formed with alined perforations, of a clamping screw which passes through the said perforations in the legs of the loop and through one of the perforations in the other end of the strip, and a nut positioned on the screw to engage with the outer face of said other end of the strip, whereby a conductor or wire inserted into the bow of the loop is gripped and held when the loop is contracted by the action of the clamping screwx, I
