- Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 172,891, dated February 1, 1876; application filed January 5, 1876.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, SAMUEL POOLE, of. Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have inventeda Laundry-Hook, of which the following is a specification:

The object of my invention is to provide an efticient and convenient device for use in laundries; and it consists of a metallic hook provided with a shank, and attached to a convenient wooden handle, by means of which v the clothes maybe readily removed from the boiler to the tub.

My invention is represented in the accompanying drawing. v

A represents the handle, which is made of wood, and of any convenient length. B ,0 0 represent the metal hooks and shank. B is the shank, which is firmly inserted into the end of the handle A. O U are the hooks,

I forming a part of the shank B. They are represented as forming an acute angle with the shank B but they may be at right angles with the shank. Two hooks are preferably used; but there may be more, if desirable.

The metal hooks and shank are to be galvanized to prevent rusting.

Thisdevice will be found very useful in manipulating the clothes in a boiler, turning them over, pressing down, and removing from the boiler.
