It is found. in the use ofbracelets of the type for securing a watch to the wrist of the wearer of advantage to provide a connecting device for the end of the bracelet which may readily be-attached to theilugs of a wrist watch; and as the lugs on different wrist watches are of varying distances apart,

it is 'found desirable to provide a construction in which connecting devices of various widths may be interchanged with one another on the end ofthe bracelet so as to accommo date the bracelet to different watches; and .in order to accomplish this result, I have provided a connecting device having a body portion with an eye secured to one end to receive 7 the removable pin extending between the lugs of the watch,and have formed the other end of .the'body portionintoa hook with a hook'so that when attached to the bracelet with the 'removablepart in operating peel tion, it 'is prevented from: being disconnected therefrom; and the following isa detaileddescription of the preferred means by which these advantageousresults may be accom 1With reference to thedrawings, 15 desig hates the links of'tlie bracelet chain which are suitably hingedly connected together. by band links 16, and to an end link 15 I have secured the connecting device 17 p which consists of a body portion 18 provided with an eye 19 the body to receive the crossbar 21 of the link 15. The tubular pin 24 is provided with trunnions 26 extending from each end thereof, each having shoulders 27 .toengage the inturned portions 28 of the pin to prevent removal therefrom by means of a spring 29 forcing the same outwardly, as illustrated in Figure 2, thereby causing the trunnions 26 to be resiliently forced into the openings 30 in the eyes 22' and sopositioning the pin 24: as to obstruct the opening 25and prevent removal of the cross bar 21 of the link 15 from the hook.

The yoke 23 is held in position by solder assisted by lugs 31, shown in Figure 8, which support this yoke from against a strain longitudinally of the body 18. In some instances, the eyes 22 are integral with the body 18 and folded down into desired position, as shown in Figures 9 and 10. The position, however, is such as to receive the pin as above described in a position to obstruct the opening and function as before.

While I have described certain construction forms which embody the principles of my invention, it is obvious that other desired changes in arrangement may be made within the spirit and the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.

I claim:

1. A device for securing a bracelet to a watch comprising a body member provided with a tubular portion at one end to be attached to the crossbar of a wrist watch,and means at the other end for detachably securing the body member to a bracelet chain, said last mentioned means comprising a portion having an opening to receive a aart of the bracelet and a member functionally independent of said tubular portion and detachably mounted on said body member across the mouth of said opening only, for obstructing the entrance thereto.

2. A device for securing a bracelet to a watch comprising a body member provided with a tubular portion at one end to be attached to the crossbar of a wrist watch, a hook at the opposite end of said body member to engage a bracelet link, and removable means functioning independently and separately from said tubular portion mounted on said body member across the mouth of said hook only, for obstructing the entering opening of said hook.

3. In a device for securing a bracelet to a watch, a body member provided with means at one end to be attached tothe lug of a wrist watch, a hook at the opposite end of said body member functioning independently and separately from said means to engage a bracelet link, and a pin mounted on said body member for closing the opening to said hook, and means for. removing mounting said pin in position to obstruct the opening to said hook.

In a device for securing a bracelet to a watch, a. body member provided with means at one end to be attached to the lug of a wrist watch, a hook at the opposite end of said body member to engage a bracelet link, eyes provided at the sides of said body member, and means removably secured in said eyes to close the opening to said book.

5. In a device for securing a bracelet to a watch, a body member provided with means at one end to be attached to the lug of a wrist watch, a hook at the opposite end of said body member to engage a bracelet link, eyes provided at the sides of said body member, and a pin having resilient portions removably secured in said eyes to close the opening to said hook.

6. In a device for securing a bracelet to a watch, a body member provided with means at one end to be attached to the lug of a wrist watch, a hook at the opposite end of said body member to engage a bracelet link, eyes provided at the sides of said body member, a tubular pin extending between said eyes, trunnions in the ends of said pin extending into the openings in said eyes, and a spring in said pin resiliently holding said trunnions in position but permitting them to be forced inwardly for removing the pin.
