1 Claim.
This invention relates to an illuminated photographic print mounting frame, and more particularly to an arrangement of parts in such frame.
The primary object of my invention is the provision of a photographic print mounting frame that will effectively bring out all of the highlights of a portrait photograph or other photo graphic print mounted in the frame.
A further object of the invention is to provide a frame in which an unmounted photographic paper print is positioned, and wherein light rays from a source of light are reflected from a convex reflector directly against the entire back area of the print paper, effectively bringing out thereby all of the high-lights of the person or object photographed.
In accomplishing the above objects, I have provided improved detail of construction of the frame, the preferred form, combination and arrangement of parts, all of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawing, and wherein:
Fig. l is an enlarged vertical sectional elevation embodying the features of the invention.
Fig. 2 is a front view of the frame.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view taken on line 3-3 of Fig. 1.
In carrying out the invention, I employ a casing which consists of a vertical back wall I, a pair of side walls 2 which are triangular in shape with the hypotenuse thereof disposed to the front of the casing, and a frame like front wall designated, generally as 3, supported by the side walls 2, and the front wall is fashioned or constructed by fitting or uniting the corners of four frame members 4 to form an open case which encloses, or contains two spaced transparent glass members 5 and 6 in frame slots 4 and 5' and between which transparent members a paper photographic print bearing a representation of o 2 erably convexed, as at 9, although not necessarily so.
A suitable source of light, such as an electric lamp I0 is carried by a suitable socket member II, which socket member is supported by the rear wall I below the reflector and to which socket the necessary electrical conductor I2 is connected, and which conductor can be plugged into any ordinary electric socket to provide electricity for the lamp Hi. When the lamp in has been lighted, the triangular chamber or space I and the convex reflector 8 will be illuminated by light rays from the lamp l. The convex reflector 8 will cause reflecting light rays to diverge and spread over the rear surface of the photographic print 6' between the glass panels 5 and 6 and thereby effectively bring out all of the high lights of the person or object, which photograph otherwise, without the reflector positioned directly in back of the photographic print would not effectively bring out the high lights of the person, face, or object photographed.
The casing structure above described is closed at its upper end and fully open at its lower, or base end, and. the back wall I is provided at its lower end with an electric cord receiving opening l3 which is open to the lower edge of the back wall.
The many advantages of the herein described invention will readily suggest themselves to those skilled in the art to which it appertains.
While I have shown and described a specific embodiment of the invention, I do not limit myself to the exact details of construction or to the precise arrangement shown but may employ such changes and modifications in the parts and the arrangements thereof as occasion may require coming within the meaning and scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is:
In a photographic print mounting frame, a casing comprising a pair of triangular side walls, a vertical back wall connecting the side walls, an inclined front frame connecting the side walls and having side members provided with grooves, a top member provided with a corresponding groove and a lower member provided with an opening corresponding with the aforesaid grooves, a pair of spaced transparent glass panels to cover both sides of a photographic print mounted 2,487,403 3 a 4 therebetween and supported at its sldes and up- REFERENCES CITED per edge portion in the grooves and the bottom frame member, refl ct having a e nv x d The following references are of record in the front face fixed to the inner face of the back file of this patent:
