Description

1950 s. MOSKOWITZ TOILET PAPER CONTAINER Filed March 10, 1947 Fig 2.
Inventor Samuel Moskowifz Patented Dec. 19, 1950 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 2 Claims.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in containers for toilet tissues and the primary feature of the present invention is to provide a container in which a large number of rolls of toilet tissues may be conveniently packed for easy removal.
Another important feature of the present invention is to provide a container for toilet tissues that is adapted for placement in a bath room to hold a large supply of tissues for the usual toilet tissue roller in said bath room.
A further feature of the present invention is to provide a cylindrical container including a removable cover which, when raised from the container, causes the rolls of paper to rise separately from the container for ready removal from the container.
A still further feature of the present invention is to provide a container for toilet tissues that is neat and attractive in appearance, simple and practical in construction, relatively inexpensive to manufacture, and otherwise well adapted for the purposes for which the same is intended.
Other objects and advantages reside in the details of construction and operation as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part hereof, wherein like numerals refer to like parts throughout, and in which:
Figure 1 is a front elevational view of the container constructed in accordance with the present invention.
Figure 2 is an enlarged vertical sectional view taken on line 2-2 thereof.
Figure 3 is a sectional view taken on line 3-3 of Figure 1.
Referring now to the drawings in detail, wherein for the purpose of illustration, I have disclosed a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the numeral 5 represents a hollow, preferably cylindrical container open at its upper end and supported in a vertical position by a disk-like base 6.
At the upper end of the container is a removable cover 7 having an annular flanged portion 8 adapted to overlie the outer upper edge of the container.
A finger-gripping knob 9 is held at the center of cover 1 by a screw it having its lower hook end H projecting inwardly from the cover into the container as shown in Fig. 2.
An endless tape I2 bears against the bottom of the container and eitends upwardly along the inner side of the container on opposite sides of the container, and the upper end of tape l2 engages hook II as shown in Fig. 1.
A plurality of rolls of toilet tissue or the like l3 are stacked vertically in container 5 with the tape I 2 loosely encircling said stack of toilet tissues.
When the cover 1 is raised by knob 9, the tape is likewise pulled upwardly which also pulls the stack of tissue I3 upwardly from the container so that the top roll of tissues may be easily removed from the tape and the container by gripping the hole 14 in said roll and pulling sidewise.
In view of the foregoing description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, it is believed that a clear understanding of the device will be quite apparent to those skilled in this art. A more detailed description is accordingly deemed unnecessary.
It is to be understood, however, that even though there is herein shown and described a preferred embodiment of the invention, the same is susceptible to certain changes fully comprehended by the spirit of the invention as herein described and within the scope or the appended claims.
What I claim is:
1. A container for stacked rolls of toilet tissues and the like including a cover, an endless tape in the container at the sides and bottom adapted to loosely encircle the stack of tissue, and means connecting the upper end of the tape to the cover for raising the stacked rolls of tissues simultaneously with the raising of the cover from the container.
2. A substantially cylindrical container for stacked rolls of toilet tissues and the like open at its upper end, a base supporting the container in a vertical position, a removable cover at the upper end of the container, a finger knob prov.jecting outwardly from the center of said cover,
an endless tape in the container and adapted to loosely encircle the stack of toilet tissues, and
connecting means between the cover and the upper end of the tape for raising the stack of toilet tissues as the cover is raised vertically from the container said connecting means securing said knob to said cover.
SAMUEL MOSKOWITZ.
