Description
July 5, 1966 v. F. SPIKER TOILET TISSUE DISPENSER Filed Oct. 8, 1964 m. M P 5 p a m V United States Patent 3,259,287 TOILET TISSUE DISPENSER Virgil F. Spiker, 446 /2 N. Washington Ave, Los Angeles County, Calif. Filed Oct. 8, 1964, Ser. No. 402,415 1 Claim. (43!. 225-34) This invention relates to bathroom toilet tissue dispensers.
This is a double roll toilet tissue dispenser, a device for dispensing toilet tissue in a simple and eflicient manner. An object of the present invention is to provide a toilet tissue dispenser that is attractive in appearance and which will not take up much space. This dispenser will be made of stainless steel and will blend in with other bathroom fixtures. This dispenser when produced in large quantities can be sold at a moderate price that everyone can aflord.
Still additional objects, benefits and advantages of this invention will become evident from a study of the following detailed description taken in conjunction with accompanying drawing, in which:
FIGURE 1 is a perspective view of a toilet tissue dispenser made in accordance with the present invention.
FIGURE 2 is the inside view of the left hand side.
FIGURE 3 is the inside view of the right hand side.
FIGURE 4 is a view of the rear bottom plate.
FIGURE 5 is a view of the wall mounting plate which the dispenser is mounted on.
FIGURE 6 is a cut away view of the dispenser in operation.
FIGURE 7 is the top, side, and end views of the stationary toilet tissue holder.
Referring now to the drawing.
FIGURE 1 shows how the dispenser is mounted. The dispenser which consists of 1 to 2 and 7 sets back and over the top of the wall mounting plate 12, also the rear bottom 7 with a hole in the center 8 sets over 10 on the wall mounting plate 12. The tissue is so placed in the dispenser so that the tissue will roll from the top toward the front and down thru the opening 6. The curves in this dispenser at the top and bottom front sections 3 is the same as a roll of tissue.
FIGURES 2 and 3 are views of the right and left hand ends. The dispenser, FIGURE 1, 1 to 2 and 7 is spot welded to the flanges, 15, which are set inside the dispenser at each end. Number 17 is the brackets, which holds the stationary tissue holder, 18. Number 16 are flanges that extend /2" up from the bottom and also /2" down from the top. These are for stops that fit against the wall mounting plate, 12.
FIGURE 4 is the rear bottom section.
FIGURE 5 is the wall mounting plate, 12. Number 9 is the mounting holes that the screws go through into the wall. There are thin spacers that go between the wall and the mounting plate, 12, on each mounting hole, 9. This allows the mounting plate, 12, to set away from the wall so when mounting the dispenser in FIGURE 1, 1 will 3,259,287 Patented July 5, 1966 will fit behind the top section of the mounting wall plate, 12.
FIGURE 6 is a cut away view of the dispenser showing how the tissue rolls from the top toward the front and down and out behind the flange, 19, which is for the purpose of tearing olf the required amount of tissue.
FIGURE 7, 18, is the top, side, and end views of the stationary wooden tissue holder. Number 19 is a round metal piece that extends through the middle of this holder, for the purpose of separating the two rolls of tissue allowing one roll to turn without disturbing the other one.
While this invention has been described with particular various changes may be made in the detail construction, it shall be understood that such changes shall be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claim.
Having thus completely and fully described the invention, what is now claimed as new and desired to be protected by Letters Patent of the United States is:
A toilet tissue dispenser comprising a compartment having a curved front face adapted to envelope a conventional roll of toilet tissue, including a bottom portion having a slot therethrough adapted to dispense the said tissue, in combination with end members having a peripheral flanges mounted within the compartment to inclose the ends thereof, and being further provided with brackets secured on the inner face of the said end members adapted to receive a stationary tissue holder upon which the said tissue is mounted, said brackets having a closed side opposite an open side through which the tissue holder is inserted and mounted, in further combination with a wall mounting plate having a peg extending vertically from the front side thereof, adapted to fit into a hole in the bottom portion of the compartment, and wherein the said flanges of the end pieces have spaced opposing faces adapted to engage the said plate when the peg is in the said hole, thereby removably securing the compartment to the plate, and wherein the tissue holder has a divider mounted thereon providing two portions of the holder, each to accommodate a separate toilet tissue.
