My invtaition relates to hose supporters of the type illustrated and described in an application tiled Oc ober 18, 1906, on which llietters Patent f\ o. S-lb-lill), was granted to me January l5, 'ltltlT, and of which the present application is a division.

A device Suitable for carrying tny invention into effect is illustrated in the accompanying-drawing. i wish it understood, however, that l do not limit myself to either the exact construction or arrangement of parts shown, as various changes may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention as defined in the appended claims.

Referring. now to the drawin -s, l represents a well known form of hose supporter, which is ordinarily secured at the upper end to the corset and terminates in the usual manner at its lower end in two pieces of webbing Z and 3, to which the members =1 and 5 of the clasp or fasteningdevice are secured.

The member 41- is preferably formed of sheet metal which is stamped out and struck or pressed up to pro vide a base (3. The base is slotted, as indicated at 7 and 8, for the insertion of the webbing and projecting therefrom there is a spring head S), which is indented upon opposite sides at 1.0 and ll for engagement with the other or locking member 5, as hereinafter dcscribedv The member f may be attached to the webbing in any manner described, but is preferably secured by having the end of the webbing passed downward through the slot '7, then upward through slot 8, over the head 9, and around along the under side of the base 6, at; a suitable point beyond which it is secured by a double line of stitching. Thus arranged, it will be observed, that the member 4, is completely inclosed by the webbing, and cannot therefore cause any inconvenience or discomfort to the wearer.

The lev r H5 is so formed as to completely inclose the head and serves as a cover or shield, the edges thereof being bent up or suitably rounded to prevent its catching, tearing or wearing the shirts.

The wire forming the bail is bent up at its ends, as indicated at if), and such bent up ends are sprung into engagement with oppositely disposed sockets in the locking lever, and provide a pivotal support about which the lever turns. The bail is thus formed in order that the sides thereof may yield, as required to permit the ready engagement or disengagement of the notched ends of the cam lug with the sides thereof.

The operation. advantages, etc. will be apparent from the foregoing description.
