After all the precipitate has been thrown down', the liquor may be removed by decanting,'siphon1ng, or pour' ing as desired. Should any. particles of the precipitate adhere to the sides of the con-v tainer they may be loosened by a swabber inI troduced through the mouth of the container.'
If it should be desired to wash the precipi tate in soine gas, or in a solution of some gas, the gas or solution may be introduced into the .container and corked in. Then When whirled the precipitate or other compound in the container passes through the solut-ion of the gas and is Washed by it.
In case it should be desired to heat, cook, or boil some precipitate yor compound the Whole jar and container could be placed over the burner and the Water introduced between the jar and coiitainei-woiild act like the Water cushion in the ordinary Water bath, and the precipitate could be heated, ete., Without being removed :from the original receptacle, `and the container in no more danger of f breaking than fiasks, etc.,- in the ordinary i baths. The Water cushion serves to equalize the pressure inside the container and recep-A tacle, to prevent leakage and to 'render possible the use or" a comparatively fragile material for container and receptacle. The level i of the Water cushion may be slightly higher than thelevel of the liquid in the container', so that the liow will be slightly inward thus Washing the joint between the c ontainer and the receptacle from any portion of the precipitating liquid.
Having thus described my invention, What I claim as new ,therein and desire to secure by Letters Patent is l. In a separating apparatus, a container having a necl, and a detachable precipitate receptacle adapted to lit over said neck, for the purpose set forth.
9.. ln a separating apparatus, a solution container having a neck at one end, a detachable precipitate receptacle adapted for adjustment on said neck, means for holding said receptacle to said neck, and means for revolving said container and receptacle l around a common center, for the purpose set forth.
3. In a separating apparatus, a solution container having a neck, a detachable pre'- cipitate receptacle adaptedto iitv over said neclr, a collar adapted` to engage a portion o'f said container and said receptacle, and

4. ln a separating apparatus, a solution v container having a neck, a detachable precipitate .receptacle adapted to fit over said neck, and an elastic collar adapted to encentrifugal machine. 5. In a separating'apparatus, a suitable jar, a solution container adapted to fit Within said jar and having a detachable precipitate exit port,and a precipitate receptacle adapti ed to seat Within saidjar and cover the exit port in said container, substantially as setl vforth.
6. ln a' separating apparatus, a suitable -jar, asolution container adapted to lit Within Asaid jar and having a detachable precipitate exit port, .a precipitate receptacle adapted to seat on the bottom of said jar and having a mouth adapted to cover said exit port, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
7. In a separating apparatus, a. suitable jar, a solution container adapted to lit within receptacle, substantially as and for the pury pose set forth.
8. `In a separating apparatus, a jar having an -internal flange, a solution container located Within said jar and seated against said iiange, a precipitate. receptacle seated on the bottom of said jar, and a neck on said container projecting into said receptacle, substantially as and for the purpose set forth. Ina separating apparatus, a jar having an internal flange, a solution receptacle located Within said jarand seated against said iiange, a detachable precipitate receptacle seated on the bottom of said jar, a neck on said container projecting into said receptacle, and means for actuating said jar, for the purpose set forth.

A separating apparatus comprising a centrifugal mechanism, a suitable jar carcentrifugal mechanism,- a precipitate recep tacle, and a solution receptacle having converging sides terminating iii said precipitate receptacle, said receptacle being adapted for attachment to and detachment :troni saidv container'. i
