Description
waited getinte @wat (emita Letters Patent No. 99,9'16, dated February 15, 187 0. l
IMPRovED sTovE-sHELr'. i
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN G. KRIOHBAUM, of Youngstown, in the county of Mahoning, and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvenients in Attachments to Stoves, for preventing sadirons from rusting; and l do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying draw# ings and to the letters of reference marked thereon which form part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 represents a side elevation of my invention.
Figure 2 is a plan view of the same.
lhe nature of my invention consists in constructing a device for'preventing rust in sad-irons when the' said device is attached to the rear end of a cooking stove in the manner set forth.
y A represents a common cookingstove.
B and C designate two semicircular shelves.
The back or circular portion of the'shelves are each cast with a knob, which rests in its appropriate slot made/in upright bar D. Similar knobs are cast at the front side of the shelf B, which rests on projections froin the stove A.
The lower shelf O is also furnished with knobs which rest on the projecting ring of the stove.
The shelves Bland G are formed with open-work so as to reduce the degree of heat received from the stove and also to admit the air freely, and thus produce rapid evaporation from .the bottom of the sad-irons.
In addition to the advantage of preventing the irons from rusting, to the annoyance ofthe operator, my device affords the most convenient shelves for holding not Onlythe sad-irons, but dishes that require to be kept warm for the table, and thus keep the topl of the stove from being encumhered.
Having thus described my invention,
strncted and arranged in the manner set forth, and used in combination with stove A, for the purpose described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
JOHN G. KRIGHBAUM.
Witnesses:
O. D. PAINE OWEN EVANS.
What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent,
The adj ustahle shelves B C and upright bar D,con Y
