DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,066, dated July 29, 1890. Application filed June 25. 1890- Serial No.356,717- Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT ROSENSTEIN, of Lancaster, in the county of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Designs for Cane, Umbrella, or Parasol Handles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which forms part of this specification.
My invention relates to an improvement in designs for cane, umbrella, or parasoi handles; and it consists in an ornamental configuration which will be more fully described hereinafter, and which imparts a novel and pleasing appearance to the handle.
The accompanying photographic illustration represents my invention.
A represents the main portion of the bandle, which has a spiral groove 13 extending around it, and in rbetween the edges of the groove is a rounded bead C. Extending from the upper end of this grooved and headed portion is the curved upper portion D, which has its outer end curved inwardly, so as to be attached to the upper part A. This part may be ornamented in any suitable manner, and its end may terminate in a volute of any ornamental design. Atone side of this curved portion is formed a curved recess or shoulder upon which an animal of any desired species is reclining.
Having thus described my invention, I claim- A design for a cane, umbrella, or parasol handle, consisting of the main grooved portion, the curved upper portion, and an animal reclining thereon, as herein shown and described.
