Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LEVIS B. STILLWELL, OF NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR AN lNSULATlNG-SUPPORT FOR ELECTRIC CONDUCTORS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,211, dated March 12, 1901.
Application filed December 18, 1900. Serial No. 40,322. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEWIS B. STILLWELI., a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Niagara Falls, in the county ot" Niagara and State of New York, have invented and produced a new, useful, and original Design for an insulating-Support for Electric Conductors, ot which the following' is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying Io drawings, in which- Fignre l is a side elevation, Fig. 2 a longitudinal section, Fig. 3 a plan View, and Fig. LL an inverted plan View, of" an insulating-sup port the shape or configuration of which is 1 in accordance with my invention.
As shown in the several figures ofthe drawings, the distinctive or leading features ot' my invention are as follows: The entire inlegi-al structure l comprises two petticoats 2 zo and 3, both of which project outwardly and downwardly in umbrella form, and a head 4, having a laterallyextending groove 5 in its top and grooves 6 of smaller size at its base or junction with its body portion. The insu- 25 lator also has a screw-threaded substantially cylindrical internal recess 8 extending into the body ofthe insulator. It will be seen that the petticoat 2 projects outwardly a somewhat greater distance than the petticoat and that the distance between the edges of the two pet- 3o ticoats is approximately onethird of the entire length of the insulator, the general eieet being in appearance that of one of frustoconical device set upon and projecting over another device of similar shape, the whole 55 effect-being symmetrical and pleasing in outline.
Having described my invention, what l claim as new, useful, and ori'ginahand desire to secure by Letters Patent, is 4o The design for an insulating-support for electric conductors substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto subj scribed my naine this 3d day of December, I5 1900.
LEWIS B. STILLVELL.
