UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LOUIS NEUBERGER AND EDWARD CLEARY, OF BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNORS TO THE CONNECTICUT WEB COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE;
DESIGN FOR A BACK FOR BUCKLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,369, dated April 16, 1901.
Application filed February 23, 1901. Serial No. 48,625. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, LOUIS NEUBERGER and EDWARD CLEARY, citizens of the United States, and residents of Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for Backs for Buckles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure l showsa front elevation of our novel design of back for buckles. Fig. 2 shows a rear elevation of the same, and Fig. 3 is an edge View as seen from the right of Fig. 2.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of our novel design consists in a plain-surfaced "buckle-back, as herein shown, and adapted to be used as a part of a Suspender-buckle.
Our buckle-back in front elevation is of substantially rectangular shape,having a straight bottom edge A, with rounded corners B and slightly-conceived ends C, the central portion of the top edge D being slightly extended and straight across. It further consists of a plainsurfaced front and back, with a concavo-convex front E and F, respectively. A transverse slot H is formed in the lower concave portion E of the back, while the central convex portion F is solid and perfectly plain-surfaced. The central upper portion G of the back is deflected rearward and upward, forming the straight edge D before mentioned, as shown in the drawings. Inward angular extensions I I are formed at each of the upper corners of the back by reason of the metal being cut from the inner edges thereof, as at J, thus separating the ends from the main stock of the back.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim, and desireto secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a buckle-back, as herein shown and described.
Signed at Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, this 31st day of January, A. D. 1901.
