It’s not all that surprising to hear that a team that stubbornly struggled to re-sign its key players is equally as difficult when it comes to trading others. Russini reports that “teams are willing to pay Hendrickson the contract he desires,” suggesting that the asking price on the Bengals’ end is simply too much to get a deal done at this time. Hendrickson will be 30 at the start of next season and has racked up 34 sacks over the last two years. By allowing Hendrickson to seek a trade with another suitor, the belief is the team will eventually sign Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to long-term deals this offseason. Their asking price for Hendrickson could eventually come down, but with the offseason just getting underway, the Bengals could opt to wait to see how things develop in the coming months.

As Reiss points out, Andrews is an eight-time captain for the Patriots. The veteran center is recovering from a shoulder surgery that limited him to just four games last season and could opt for retirement rather than continuing his career elsewhere. A pillar of the Patriots’ franchise for several years, Andrews has started 121 of the 124 games he’s appeared in and has spent his entire career in New England. We’ll see where things go from here, but the two-time Super Bowl champ is now free to sign with any team interested in his services.

31-year-old Kupp, of course, is from Washington and played his college ball at Eastern Washington. Seattle is also direly short on wideouts after cutting Tyler Lockett and trading DK Metcalf. It can likely only serve to help their case that they play Kupp’s former Rams squad twice per season. Despite Kupp’s many question marks — injury and aging chief amongst them — he should have a new home within 48 hours time.

Dulac is speaking specifically about Rodgers and the Steelers. “The offer has been made,” Dulac reports. “It’s about Rodgers taking his good ol’ time about making a decision.” In typical Rodgers fashion, he is keeping the Steelers, Giants and supposedly maybe even the Vikings in suspense. The act can’t go on much longer than another day or two, but there haven’t been any indications a decision is imminent. Ultimately, the tea leaves seem to suggest Pittsburgh. Stay tuned.

The productive 34-year-old will return to the NFL for his 12th season as the Panthers revise his contract. Thielen has stayed consistent in his late career, finishing the 2024 season with a 48/615/5 line in 10 games after 103/1,014/4 in 17 games for 2023. The Panthers get him back as a productive veteran to help QB Bryce Young’s development. His ability to be a high-volume target-earner throws Thielen into the fantasy WR4 discussion for the 2025 season.

Tomlinson has plenty left in the tank, entering his age-31 season. The former Brown totaled 36 quarterback pressures, and four sacks last year, both of which tie for career-highs. The Cardinals defensive tackle group totaled the 13th-most quarterback pressures (99) and tied for the eighth-most NFL sacks (14.0) last year. Tomlinson’s addition should push those numbers even higher this year.

The 49ers add Jones to their quarterback room, nearly four years after passing on him in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Jones’ deal includes $5 million guaranteed and a maximum value of $11.5 million. Jones has started 49 of 52 games throughout his four-year career but with these contract terms is locked in as a backup quarterback. The 49ers give themselves a bit of cover if Brock Purdy goes down with Jones one of the better backup quarterbacks on the market, though throwing 18 touchdowns and 20 interceptions over the last two seasons.

Williams spent the first seven years of his career with the Chargers before playing for both the Jets and Steelers in 2024. His most recent season as a Charger, 2023, was shortened by an ACL tear in Week 3. He struggled to perform well last year, playing on a surgically repaired knee while learning two new playbooks in one season. While he may never return to his prior form, Williams’ return to Los Angeles and his reunion with Justin Herbert should yield improved box score performances. Williams will likely compete for the No. 3 role, with incumbent Quentin Johnston presumably operating in the No. 2 role.

Smith entered the offseason mulling retirement, with one year on his deal. The Vikings front office coaxed him away from his retirement plans by increasing his $1.255 million to $10.25 million. He can reportedly earn up to $14 million via playing time and performance incentives. The 36-year-old safety broke up four passes, caught three interceptions, totaled 60 tackles and recorded one sack last season.

Jordan announced on his Instagram that he will be returning for his 15th season in the NFL. He will be 36-years-old to start the season and agreed to a reworked contract to return to New Orleans. Spending his entire career with the Saints, Jordan has totaled 121.5 career sacks over 14 seasons but has just six over the last two. No longer the player he used to be, it is possible Jordan just plays out his contract into retirement.
