Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said he would ask the Home Office to look into the case of a couple who were fined for unknowingly bringing a migrant into the UK.

"It's hugely emotional for a lot of reasons. His family find it very hard. Jockeys in Ireland, England and around the world have been under a cloud in the last couple of weeks."

It has struck me as very odd these last couple of years that the pandemic has gone so far down the memory hole that it's like it never happened.

"And, in particular, all our thoughts are with Marta's family who have been fully co-operative throughout what has been a devastating couple of days for them," he added.

When asked a couple of weeks ago if she was going to quit as an MSP she told journalists "you'll have to wait and see".
