Scheduled for April 26 and 27, the annual literary festival brings more than 550 storytellers to the USC campus across seven outdoor stages and 15 indoor venues.

But their important role can be seen during the festival as they build all the accommodation for those staying for the week - and prepare all the food.

Asked what the tent was like, the witness said: "It was what I would describe as a festival tent, very small, green in colour… bowing on the top."

This year marks the 38th spring edition of the festival with more than 600 events from 22 May to 1 June.

Tom Grennan will headline Radio 1's Big Weekend on the Friday of this year's festival.
