Egypt says it has formulated its own comprehensive Gaza reconstruction plan - which will not involve Palestinians leaving their land.

While still being formulated, it is thought the proposal could involve a local administration of technocrats drawn from Palestinians in Gaza, without affiliating to factions including Hamas.

The strategy would be formulated in collaboration with a citizens' assembly - a group made up of members of the public.
