“Sometimes all people need is some guidance, and here in the observatory we have instructors and put out telescopes every night free to the public,” Krupp said.

On Monday, Los Angeles police arrested a man after a small brush fire broke out in Griffith Park under the observatory.

Thursday, with the observatory scheduled to open at noon.

Mount Wilson, north of Sierra Madre, is home to key radio and TV transmitters for the region, as well as a historic observatory.
