US looks to weaken Russia’s ties with Iran, China, North Korea — Kellogg

Cooperation between China and Russia is viewed by the US as "global issue" that also involves Iran and North Korea, according to the envoy

NEW YORK, April 2. /TASS/. The US is hoping to weaken Russia's ties with Iran, China and North Korea, US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg told Fox News.

Cooperation between China and Russia is viewed by the US as "global issue" that also involves Iran and North Korea, according to the envoy.

"I think we have to look at that. We have to separate those forces, basically, of course <…> Russia and China, and kind of break them apart a little bit like President Trump did in his first term," he said.

Speaking at a Council on Foreign Relations event on Ukraine on March 6, Kellogg said Moscow's closer ties with Beijing, Pyongyang and Tehran represented a global challenge. He then said Trump tried to prevent Russia, Iran, China and North Korea from coming together during his first term as US president.
