Burthov is an area on Cybertron containing docks, a launch site used to fire garbage into space, laboratories and factories for producing scrap drones. It's located far from the capital city of Trypticon.

Fiction

IDW movie comics

Burthov "belonged" to the members of the Science Division, who used the area for research and planetary maintenance tasks. Ratchet, for instance, had a laboratory there. Following a failed assault by aliens to steal the AllSpark, Arcee brought him the corpse of one of the aliens to study. Ratchet was surprised to discover the aliens were structurally similar to the Cybertronians, but couldn't theorize on his findings for long, as Optimus had ordered the entire Science Division to excavation site LT34. Some time later, Science Division members Grindcore, Strongarm and Cosmos launched a record amount of debris per rocket from Burthov. They thought this would please Optimus, but their leader was concerned with more stressing matters. Inside one of Burthov's laboratories, Ratchet, Arcee and Elita-One were starting the first examination round on some of the odd fragments found at the excavation site. Arcee noticed that each collection of fragments bore a symbol in the same area—a symbol that also could be found on Optimus's head. The three scientists believed this to be proof of the existence of the Dynasty of Primes and, much to Optimus's dismay, that their leader was connected to the Primes.

Optimus, Arcee and Ratchet went to the excavation site for further investigation, but were arrested by the Security Force. On their way to Trypticon for interrogation, they were ambushed by Megatron loyalists in Metrotitan. Due to Optimus Prime's efforts, the Science Division and Security Force members could escape with their lives and on his advice, they regrouped at Burthov. Defiance #3 The people at Burthov understood that Megatron had finally declared war on all who opposed him and swiftly reorganized themselves in a counter-faction. The next day, a small unit of Autobots returned to the excavation site to rescue their colleagues who hadn't gotten the memo on war on time. Along the way, a few Defense Force defectors joined up with the unit and the whole group returned to Burthov. On Chromia's advice, the Autobots decided to set up a more permanent base at Tyger Pax. While preparations were being made for a safe move, security at Burthov was called in to deal with a possible Decepticon wandering into their territory. Their assumption was incorrect, as Ironhide had come to offer his strength and battle skill to the Autobot faction. Optimus Prime and Chromia were glad he would not have to be their enemy.

The Autobots' headquarters were moved from Burthov to Tyger Pax while Megatron's faction, the Decepticons, built a starship for unknown purposes. Defiance #4 Of course, with Burthov left deserted, it was only a matter of time before the Decepticons laid claim on it. At some point during the war, the Decepticon scrap drone Wheelie was constructed in a factory north of the Burthov docks. Rising Storm #2

Beast Wars: Uprising

Burthov was a Predacon ghetto. Blackarachnia recruited Scylla from Burthov. Broken Windshields During the Grand Uprising against the Builders, the Tripredacus Alliance announced sovereignty over Burthov as part of the new Independent Predacus States. Safe Spaces Or more accurately, was given Burthov as a concession by Lio Convoy, rather than giving them Petrex, on the grounds it was a Predacon city anyway. Derailment
