As terrifying as FX’s new Alien: Earth series is probably going to be, it’s going to be so much more alarming if we get to see some of how things go sideways from the perspective of the USCSS Maginot’s pet cat.
Palworld’s crossplay update is coming soon. We don’t know exactly when, as the announcement states it’ll happen sometime late March. But expect to pal around with your friends on any platform within the next two weeks. Also, in celebration of the update, Palworld’s 25 percent off on the PlayStation store and Steam.

Mike Verdu had Netflix’s been VP of generative AI for games, with Alain Tascan taking over as gaming boss, but Verdu has left the company, it confirmed to Game File.

If The Weeknd wasn’t enough to convince you to pick up Apple’s $3,499 headset (or at least stop by an Apple Store to try one out), now the company will offer a 25-minute virtual trip to the Mexico City finale of Metallica’s M72 World Tour, which will also be available as an EP on Apple Music.
Filmed on 14 cameras in “ultra-high-resolution 180-degree video and Spatial Audio to give viewers unprecedented access to James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo,” it will be available as an extended preview in Apple Store demos beginning Friday.

The New York Times reported in 2023 that Keita Takahashi gets no royalties from his quirky roll-up-the-world’s-objects-into-a-blob game series — which wouldn’t terribly surprise me. Royalties aren’t common in an industry that doesn’t treat workers well in general. But I imagine he’s getting something from cute licensed products with his name on them, right? Right?
The desk mat is $28, and I just bought one for my wife. (We bonded over Katamari in our dating years; Don’t tell her, it’s a surprise!)

A 4K restoration of Princess Mononoke is debuting in IMAX theaters in North America starting March 26th in celebration Studio Ghibli’s 40th anniversary. You can buy tickets now.

The company has sued PlayerAuctions, a marketplace that lets people buy things like accounts and in-game currency for video games, IGN reports. Roblox also sued the marketplace last month.

In celebration of MAR10 day, Nintendo’s official holiday celebrating its iconic red plumber guy, it dropped a new album on its Nintendo Music app - the soundtrack for Super Mario Bros. 3. You can see the full tracklist here, but it’s got a lot of Koji Kondo’s greatest hits like “Hurry Up! Underwater BGM” or “Hurry Up! King of the Koopas”.

AMD delivers the ultimate blow to Intel, thanks to its second-gen 3D V-Cache technology.

Do you have an OG Asus ROG Ally with a 40Wh pack? Jsaux, the biggest name in handheld accessory innovations, is now selling a 65Wh upgrade kit for $80. It comes with a slightly thicker back cover and an extended heatsink too. If that’s not enough battery, iFixit’s slightly hackier mod can give you an ROG Ally X-beating 88Wh. Jsaux seems to be out of stock, but you can smash a “notify me” button.

The new F1 season is about to get started in Australia this weekend (you’ve caught up on Drive to Survive right?), and its subscription video package has some changes. For $129.99 per year, the new F1 TV Premium tier adds the above features and a customizable multi-feed view -- Pro subscribers should check out the fan-built MultiViewer app.
Other than the extra cost, the bad news is that availability of the new features is limited. They’re not on Android, or browsers other than Chrome, and 4K / HDR viewing will require Apple TV or Roku for now.
We’ve come to expect reduced performance from aging hardware, but some gamers have discovered the opposite with the Super Nintendo, as spotted by Time Extension.
The SNES’ main CPU, featuring a quartz crystal, is okay. But the console’s audio processing unit, which uses a ceramic resonator, is now running faster and speeds up as the hardware warms. The issue will potentially produce higher pitched sounds, but it’s not yet known if it will affect gameplay.

Like, literally. An update for Remedy’s supernatural thriller includes a new mission from one Dr. Yoshimi Tokui, who is voiced by Kojima. It’s currently only for the PC version of the game, but Remedy says the update will hit consoles “in the near future.” Meanwhile, Kojima’s Death Stranding 2 got a June release date over the weekend and a new trailer that spans 10 whole minutes.

Additionally, on March 13th, Andor creator Tony Gilroy will host a live, hour-long rewatch event streamed on YouTube “with select talent,” which better be code for “Diego Luna and national treasure Kathryn Hunter.”

The PS5 has finally been bundled with the game that makes purchasing the console totally worth it. The Astro Bot PS5 bundle is $450 and goes on sale March 13th. It’s a PS5 slim model that comes with the disk drive and 1 TB of storage.
Not that you’ll need all that space because Astro Bot, 2024’s wholly correct Game of the Year, is the only game you’ll ever need to play on it.
Season 1-7 of Donald Trump’s competition reality TV series will be available to stream starting today until April 27th via Amazon’s video platform, which is also paying $40 million to license Melania Trump’s documentary after Jeff Bezos started sucking up to the President.
Producer Mark Burnett says The Apprentice is “one of the best shows” he ever created. “The charismatic onscreen presence of President Donald J. Trump made it a bona fide hit. Now, thanks to Prime Video, a whole new audience will experience a new season every Monday.”
