Police in Turku, south-western Finland, are investigating a Saturday-night shooting incident in the city centre.
Emergency services received reports of multiple gunshots around 10 pm on Ketarantie, near the city’s main bus station.
Police say that the shooting took place in a private flat, but that no-one was injured. They detained two men in the apartment.
Five gunshots reported
The head of the investigation at the Southwestern Finland Police Department, Jetro Hanhilampi, tells local newspaper Turun Sanomat that interviews and other information gathering measures are underway on Sunday. He said that police will be able to provide more information about the case by Monday morning.
A resident of Ketarantie reported hearing four shots, followed by a single additional shot about 20 minutes later.
Around the same time, several police cars and an ambulance were seen at a Shell petrol station on nearby Aninkaistenkatu, but according to Turun Sanomat, these vehicles were responding to a separate incident involving a fight.
