The number of students attending classes at Finland's universities of applied sciences increased last year, according to an education report released by Statistics Finland.
The state number-crunching agency found that there were nearly 133,000 students in education leading to a university of applied sciences degree last year. This figure was four percent higher compared to 2019.
The number of students studying for a master's degree at a university of applied science also increased, up by more than 12 percent to about 16,000.
The report further found that there were more female undergraduate students than male, while almost two-thirds of postgraduate students were female.
However, the number of completed universities of applied sciences degrees in 2020 remained at the previous year's level, at just under 25,000.
