Three unions issue strike warning

The Metalworkers' Union, the Trade Union Pro and the Finnish Electrical Workers´ Union have filed a strike warning with 44 companies belonging to the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries. The threatened strike is to start on October 21.

The three unions, as well as the Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff YTN, have also introduced an overtime ban which comes into effect immediately. The ban concerns all businesses in the Federation.

The strike would last about two weeks and affect some 32,000 workers.

YTN has not yet made a decision on the strike.

The Metalworkers’ Union and the Trade Union Pro walked out of contract talks with the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries last Thursday.
